Converge Magazine Cover | Sports Ethics

Spent another great afternoon with the fine folks over at Converge Magazine.  Here’s a little bit about them : “Converge magazine was founded out of the desire to create cultural discussion from a faith perspective and to tell authentic stories that in some way impact the lives of our readers. We’d like to think of ourselves as a general interest magazine with a definite slant.”

They asked me to do their “Bloodiest” cover yet for their topic of “Hockey Arena. Our Modern Day Colosseum?” With the help of the amazing Jayna Marie Makeup we were able to pull of what maybe on of my most favourite shoots to date!

For those wondering about lighting and post production.  This was lit by a Chinatown Special DIY Beauty Dish with a Canon Speedlight camera left and then two Ebay Special LED video lights left and right behind the subject.  Snow flakes, color grading and “look” all polished in post with Lightroom and Photoshop.
